It was! Eight eggs altogether. I didn’t touch anything but by leaning over top I could do the count. Hopefully at least some of the eggs will hatch and maybe we’ll have babies. Yay!
This was a first for me. I noticed the eggs as I passed by a big old poplar. The grouse had rearranged last year’s leaves into a little depression and laid 8 eggs there. I hope to see little ones if they hatch. 🙂

Well, in this case, it was the grouse (tho’ I’m sure there were spiders around somewhere!).
